What is NCTF Skin Booster?

NCTF® (New Cellular Treatment Factor) is a mesotherapy skin booster made in France by Laboratoires FILLMED, previously known as Filorga Medi-Cosmétique. First developed in 1978, the formula combines non-cross-linked hyaluronic acid with a complex of more than 50 ingredients, including vitamins, amino acids, minerals, coenzymes, nucleic acids and antioxidants.

Tiny droplets are placed into the upper layers of the skin using very fine injections. Unlike a dermal filler, NCTF® does not add volume or alter the shape of your face. Instead, it hydrates the skin and supports the fibroblasts, the cells that produce collagen and elastin, so your skin can look fresher, smoother and brighter over a course of treatment.

NCTF Skin Booster Benefits

NCTF® can be used on the face, neck, décolletage and the backs of the hands. Depending on your skin, a course of treatment may help to:

  1. Improve skin hydration
  2. Restore radiance to dull, tired skin
  3. Soften the look of fine, superficial lines
  4. Refine skin texture and even out tone
  5. Improve the appearance of skin firmness
  6. Revitalise skin affected by sun, stress or lifestyle
  7. Refresh your skin without altering your features

NCTF® is a good fit if you want to improve skin quality or protect your skin as it ages. It is not designed to correct deep wrinkles, volume loss or significant sagging. For those concerns, our practitioner may suggest alternatives such as Profhilo or Saypha dermal fillers. Every treatment starts with a face-to-face consultation, where we assess your skin, medical history and goals to make sure NCTF® is right for you.

STEP BY STEP GUIDE

NCTF Skin Booster Procedure

Here is what to expect from your first consultation through to maintenance, so you can approach NCTF® treatment feeling informed and at ease.

Consultation and Skin Assessment

Meet our aesthetic practitioner to discuss your skin concerns, medical history, medicines and allergies. We assess your skin and explain whether NCTF® is suitable, what results are realistic and the possible risks.

Personalised Treatment Plan

Together we agree the areas to treat, the number of sessions, the spacing between them and the cost before anything begins. You will have time to ask questions before giving your consent.

Preparation

We will give you pre-treatment advice, such as avoiding alcohol for 24 hours beforehand to reduce bruising. Never stop a prescribed medicine without speaking to your GP. On the day, your skin is cleansed and a numbing cream may be applied for comfort.

Micro-Injection Treatment

Using a very fine needle, your practitioner places tiny amounts of NCTF® into the superficial layers of the skin across the treatment area. Most people feel a light pricking sensation. The appointment takes around 30 to 45 minutes, including numbing.

Straight After Treatment

Small raised bumps at the injection points, redness and mild swelling are normal and usually settle within 24 to 48 hours. Some people develop small bruises, which can take a few days to fade.

Aftercare

Avoid make-up for 12 hours and try not to touch the area. For 24 to 48 hours, avoid strenuous exercise, saunas, steam rooms, hot baths and alcohol. Wear SPF 30 or higher every day.

Your Course of Treatment

NCTF® works best as a course. The manufacturer's protocol is typically an initial course of 3 to 5 sessions, spaced about 2 to 4 weeks apart. Your practitioner will tailor this to your skin.

Results and Maintenance

Many people notice their skin feels more hydrated after the first session, with texture and radiance improving gradually across the course. A maintenance session every 3 to 6 months helps maintain results. Results vary from person to person and are not guaranteed.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

We have put together some commonly asked questions.

What is NCTF® skin booster treatment?

NCTF® is a mesotherapy treatment by Laboratoires FILLMED (formerly Filorga). It delivers hyaluronic acid with more than 50 vitamins, amino acids, minerals and antioxidants into the skin to improve hydration, radiance and texture.

Is NCTF® the same as Profhilo or dermal fillers?

No. Dermal fillers use cross-linked hyaluronic acid to add volume and shape. Profhilo uses a high concentration of hyaluronic acid alone. NCTF® combines a lighter hyaluronic acid with a nourishing nutrient complex and adds no volume.

How many NCTF® sessions will I need?

Most people start with a course of 3 to 5 sessions, spaced around 2 to 4 weeks apart, followed by maintenance every 3 to 6 months. We confirm your plan at your consultation.

When will I see results from NCTF®?

Skin often feels more hydrated after the first session. Improvements in glow, texture and fine lines build gradually over the course. Results vary between individuals.

Does NCTF® treatment hurt?

Most patients describe a mild pricking sensation. We can apply numbing cream beforehand to make treatment more comfortable.

What are the side effects of NCTF®?

Redness, small bumps at injection points, mild swelling, tenderness and bruising are common and usually short-lived. Rarely, infection or an allergic reaction can occur. We explain all risks at your consultation, and you should contact us straight away if anything concerns you.

Is there any downtime after NCTF®?

Most people return to normal activities straight away. Visible bumps usually settle within 24 to 48 hours, so you may prefer not to book treatment right before an event.

Who should not have NCTF® treatment?

NCTF® is not suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding, if you have an active skin infection, cold sore or inflammation in the area, or a known allergy to any ingredient. Please tell us about any medical conditions or medicines, including blood thinners.
